If I purchase a phone through the link on your site, what do I do when it arrives to start using My Mobile Watchdog?
If you purchase a phone using the link on our site, it will arrive with My Mobile Watchdog pre-installed. Inside the box will be basic instructions to activate your account.
Why does My Mobile Watchdog require a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile Smartphone?
BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices are mature, full-featured smart phones. These phones have many system level functions that the My Mobile Watchdog client uses to provide monitoring and other services. We plan to release clients for some of the other major smart phones in the coming months.
Will my child know that My Mobile Watchdog is on their phone?
Yes. My Mobile Watchdog is not spyware and they will know that their phone is being protected.
How will they know?
A message appears on the phone about every 24 hours or whenever the phone is turned on. It lets them know that My Mobile Watchdog is monitoring and protecting their phone. They push any button to agree and continue phone use.
What if I want to hide the message on the phone?
My Mobile Watchdog is not spyware, rather a tool for parents to use to monitor and protect their children.
Do I need a text plan for my (parent's) phone?
Our recommendation is for you to get an unlimited text plan. That will allow you to receive alerts and copies of unapproved messages on your personal cell phone.
Can my child remove the software from their phone?
While no software is completely immune from removal, My Mobile Watchdog will let you know if your child has removed the software from their phone. If your child deletes it, they will be unable to reactivate their phone without your security code.
